Gymnastics Scene

Here is my progression so far for the gymnastics scene. The flip at the end need some editing but I feel that the start has been finished. I thought this would be the hardest animation to do but it was easier to do than the run cycle

Stadium Update - Final

Final stadium with all anomalies fixed.

Here is the first attempt at a run cycle for the animation. So much tweaking and fixing left. Originally I did it on 11frames but felt it was too fast so I moved it to 24frames. Theres weights that still need to be painted on the shirt and theres issues with the knees when you view on the front view. Plus the run simply doesnt look natural, way to 'robotic'

Character Texturing, Rig Testing

I have started to properly texture the character.
My team has asked for a few different versions such as light skin, Dark skin, Light clothing, Dark Clothing etc.
Below are some of my early tests.
Once these are completed I will move on to animating the Hurdle scene.


 
Render with two area lights, diffuse and specular map


While texturing I also continued to test the rig and look for any problems that were not obvious when a texture was not applied,  below is one such problem which will be easily fixed by adjusting the weight painting
Weighting fault in chest.
I have also scaled the rig to a more manageable size, which hopefully will reduce render times and just make the process smoother in general.

Punchbag

I modelled the punchbag for the short. Louis finished it by adding the shaders and chains while I was sorting out the character rigging.
The shaders and the stand may need to change so it fits in with the new theme we are going for

Stadium Update

Looking better now, needs a bit more work, and also a background for placement.

Little test for render time, We've found out we're gonna have allocate quite a bit of time toward rendering.

Stadium outer seating area made by louis with some editing by me, my main contribution is the the main centre piece and figuring out the lighting and texturing for the general stadium.

Character Development

The Character was modeled in 3d Coat, it was based off the design for the character we were going to include in our original short.
as the character is going to be animated I tried to keep the topology as clean as possible and manually retopologized the entire sculpt.
It is currently ready to be rigged and animated, the textures can be applied at a later date. However the animation is of utmost importance at this moment.

Props Modeling Developing

Working on props modeling, just finished 4 of them.
Then i'll continue do others.

Stadium Design Update 2

Ive been working on some extra design for the stadium, and decided to try adding some sort of floodlights as a stadium would have.

I figured our whole new look now is futuristic and I might as well try making it look as cool as possible, so I decided to make these flood lights rocket powered so the can move around.


I may look a bit intense, but that just the effect because of the lack of lighting in the scene.


In the scene with lighting, the lights and intensity have very little effect, but add a nice look to things.

(Not final colour scheme. Still to be decided as a group)

Stadium Design Update

As a team we decided to try a stylized approach to the given breif, and using a major art influence in the style of Tron, I went forward and did a little test on the look for it.

This is the effect i got from it, I think it looks okay, but definitely needs work on the glow from the blue points. and the colour scheme is nothing final just for test purposes.
